Facilities?

Good home cooked food, good real ales, log fire when it's cold, good company, good bed and breakfast and bunkhouse accommodation, camping, friendly pub dog (Spot)- what more could you need?

Ah yes... drying room, bike storage, car parking, the best location in the Black Mountains, and the best weather- always. (one of these might not be exactly true, the other is possibly true and the rest are definitely true - have a guess which!)

As for mobile ‘phone reception, O2 is the main one in the pub. Orange, T Mobile and Vodaphone is available if you go for a short walk!!

Yes, we do take credit and debit cards - no problem. We can provide packed lunches, as long as you tell us the day before.

Want to know what's on the menu?

Various starters are available, including the ever-popular garlic mushrooms now topped with Welsh Perl Las (blue cheese). Steve's steak in ale pie continues to be a major favourite, and people are really enjoying our steaks (or halloumi cheese) cooked at the table by the chef of the minute (you!) on our hot lava stones, which are heated to 400 degrees!

We use locally farmed meat, freerange chicken and freerange eggs. Even our bread is baked in Talgarth (5 mins away),  but sorry to report that our swordfish isn't caught in the stream behind - though we would if we could!

Vegetarian food is popular here and taken seriously in the making. (Heather's veggie too). Chickpea tagine and veggie shepherd's pie continue to be very, very popular.

We always have several yummy desserts available too, but most people don't manage a pudding, to be honest!

Dogs

Sorry we don't allow dogs into the B&B rooms or into the pub - it's Spot's fault.
